Regarding: Hwy 11 Fire Closure Near Sapawe, ON

A forest fire on Hwy 11 near Sapawe, ON has cause the closure of highway 11 between Thunder Bay and Fort Frances. This disruption will force traffic to an alternative route across Highway 17 and down Highway 502.

This temporary diversion will add transit time due to extra distance travelled and congestion, and result in additional cost to move shipments between Thunder Bay and Fort Frances (and surrounding communities). We encourage you to continue to visit our website for updates on the situation.

Accordingly, during this time all shipments that are diverted via this route, which will add 190 kilometers (one-way), will be subject to a temporary Sapawe Fire surcharge of $4.76/CWT with a minimum charge of $23.80 per shipment, to a maximum of $952.00 per shipment.
