WINNIPEG, October, 2020 — Gardewine Group Limited Partnership (Gardewine), a leading service provider in the transportation, warehousing, and freight handling industry has announced the addition of new Hybrid vehicles to their existing fleet of vehicles. Darin Downey, President and COO of Gardewine Group Inc. states, “This is an exciting time in our company’s evolution. The addition of hybrid vehicles to our fleet brings a new level of innovation to our services and is part of our ongoing commitment to doing our part to help face the challenge of climate change in Canada by reducing emissions by finding better and more sustainable solutions. “
The new Ford Transit courier vans, equipped with XLH™ hybrid electric drive systems, are expected to provide a 14 to 21 percent improvement in baseline fuel economy driving and significantly decrease CO2 emissions. A Ford eQVM partner, the company’s goal is to help clients drive cleaner, greener fleet vehicles by reducing fuel consumption, saving money and helping to meet sustainability goals.
In Canada, the transportation sector contributes 25 percent of all of Canada’s emissions. “Transportation is an essential service,” says Downey,” so it feels right that our company is taking steps to reduce our environmental impact while continuing to provide the world-class service our customers have come to expect from our proud Canadian company. Today, it is possible to create positive change in the world, and we’re proud to be doing our part.” The new hybrid vehicles will be released for service in October.
